With many of us trying to switch over to eco-friendly products, getting a starter package together for your relatives this holiday season would be a great idea!
Package Idea #1: Knitted Dish Cloths, all natural cleaners
I found some patterns online for knitting dish cloths, so that you can also add the handmade element to the package. With over 100 patterns listed there, surely there must be one to fit your skills and preferences. Then, combine it with some all natural cleaners. You could either go to the store and pick up some great eco-friendly products from Method, Greenworks or Seventh Generation. Or if you have more time on your hands, you could make some cleaning products yourself! Check out some of the great recipes at Care 2 Make a Difference and Tree Hugging Family.
Package Idea #2: Go Green with Reusable Bags
I get so delighted when I go grocery shopping and see more and more individuals using reusable bags. Find some great tutorials and tips on making some reusable bags for your relatives from Crafting a Green World and Curbly. Or if you can always just pick some up from Reusable Bags (I have this one and absolutely love it), Bright and Bold and Baggu. Think of all ways you help the environment by not using plastic bags – less pollutants in the atmosphere, less waste in our landfills, less dangers to wildlife. You could attach a grocery store giftcard or some of their favorite snacks in it.

These are great finds! I’m so stealing some of your ideas for my green holiday gift bags that I’m going to make and put together. Thanks Amy!
These are great ideas…I’m giving some ChicoBag reusable bags to my parents for Christmas. I love that more people are getting on board with the no-plastic-bag thing. I’m even making my own gift bags and minimizing the amount of wrapping paper I’m using this year…it should be a pretty ‘green’ Christmas all-around!
