Have you been reading our Holiday ideas on Mondays? If you have, this cardboard tree should look really familar! The kind folks at the The Cardboard Tree have donated one for us to giveaway to one lucky winner! I bought one of these trees for our home this holiday season not only because of it’s three feet size that packs itself flat (which is perfect for any storage concerns), but also because of it being very eco-friendly! This adorable tree is made out of recycled cardboard. When the tree is on its last limb, it is also recycleable! Another kind gesture is that a portion of the profits from the sale of The Cardboard Tree are donated to the Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree For America program which replants trees through their reforestation program.
I imagine this eco-friendly cardboard tree easily becoming a great holiday tradition in your family. Everyone could think of different ways to decorate the tree each year. Even kids would be able to enjoy using crayons, decorations and glitter to make this tree sparkle and transform into a beauty! The cardboard tree comes with some adorable cardboard ornaments that you can use or hang those ornaments you have cherished over the years on it too. Visit their website to find some decorating ideas and order it online for your home this season. It would also work great in the workplace, amuse the kids an afternoon at their daycare or a great way to bring holiday cheer to their grandparent’s home! Or as a reader suggested, perhaps send it to someone who is stationed overseas!
We have two giveaways this week, we hope you’ll enter the other one as well!

We are recycling alot more.
I like that a portion of the profits are donated to the Trees for America program.
lots of led lights and for the trees for america program
By resusing as much as possible.
this year we’re not doing as much ’stuff giving’ therefore cutting down on unnecessary products and paper.
i LOVE that the tree is 3 feet tall!!
We’re growing as much of our food as our property can provide. THat’s how we’re going green here. I like that the cardboard tree is made from recycled cardboard.
I like that it is eco friendly. We have a water saver shower head.
I like how it can be customized. The kids would have tons of fun decorating it with paints, markers…etc. We are using re-usable wrapping paper and making Christmas ornaments out of things we have around the house.
by using recycled holiday cards
This year, I am not wrapping anything! It’s all going in reusable gift bags from last year. I like the fact that the tree is eco-friendly, like me!
we are buying eco-friendly wood toys and wood ornaments. love you can still decorate the tree and save a tree’s life!
We are always on the road visiting family and friends so rarely have a real Christmas tree. This is a safer, more ecological, and “classier” option than the usual artificial tree. Thanks for the chance!
We are recycling now. We never use to. Personally, I love this tree because my parents just got a divorce and I’m living with my dad and brother. They aren’t too worried about it and don’t like all the fuss but I’d like to have a tree up. This is minimal, can be stored easy and WAY cuter! The possibilities are endless.
I have been recycling for many years now. My motto is reuse and recycle.
Can’t say we are doing anything too much extra for Christmas, but we have started to really get into recycling. I love that the kids can decorate the tree. I know my kids would have so much fun and it would be a craft that we could do on several occasions.
NOTHING EXTRA FANCY and we reduce reuse recycle
Oh oops sorry I forgot to include what I am doing to go green in my last post! I reuse plastic bags from the grocery store and plastic water bottles, throwing them away everytime and getting new ones is a waste!
I love this idea! I like how you can decorate it yourself however you want, and theres no mess!
i have vowed to make at least 50% of the gifts i am going to be giving this year which is a feat in & amongst itself! don’t know how thrilled my sweetie will be to receive the specific gift i make him, but i know he’ll be thrilled that it came from my 2 hands….as possible feet! also will be using mostly recycled papers, ribbons/bows, boxes, gift bags for wrapping said handmade gifts!
We are staying at home this holiday season to save on fuel and travel expenses. I like that the tree can be folded flat for storage and can be recycled when it becomes ragged. Would look great with all my homemade decorations.
wow now this is realy neet and well i love to try and win it. and well abt going green this x-mas well i done that my whole lile i say what i mean by that is well every thing i own is things that well endup in 2nd hand stores or was just giveing to me becues no one wanted the stuff any more and well i also reuse things to like coffie cans and butter bowles and what not so well if thats not liveing green i dont know what is thanks
My family is going “green” this holiday season by making our own personalized Christmas cards instead of buying store bought creations. My favorite thing about the cardboard Christmas tree is how the kids can actually color, paint, stencil, and draw on the tree itself. That way the tree is a personalized representation of our unique family! It would make a great tree for our holidays this year!!
Don’t enter me, but I wanted to say I blogged this for you
I have to say this is the coolest thing I’ve seen in a while, and I’m just glad to have found it {via Kathleen, actually!}. It’s my daughter’s 1st Christmas this year and I’m going to order one for her very own little tree in the nursery. I love that it’s easy to store and it’s the perfect height!
Please don’t enter me, I just wanted to say how cool I thought this tree was. Thank you =)
We are going green by not travelling anywhere. One thing I like about the tree is its versatility!
We compost EVERYTHING. Seriously. Even looking into recycling the kitty poo. (Not on the veggie garden!)
I love the orange shag and disco ball tree! Nice.
This year, rater than buying gifts, I am making them by hand. Less waste, less consumerism.
I love the look of the tree, but I also love how part of the proceeds are donated to Trees for America. So less trees are cut, and more are actually planted! Double wow!
I do this every year & have been doing it for about the past 8 years. I never wrap presents with store bought wrapping paper. I sometimes use newspaper when I don’t have glossy magazines available, but try to stick to newspaper. My family has gotten used to it. I also have learned to make my own bows. : )
I really like that I can customize the color to fit my decor!
We are looking into doing solar Christmas lights this year!
We are going green by buying a live tree that we can plant after the holiday. And the one thing I like the most about the cardboard tree is how portable it is and easy to store. It would be really cute and safe in a kids room.
To improve our carbon footprint we are sending e-christmas cards this year. Wrapping gifts in newspaper or recycled paper grocery bags and handmaking the presents so they will not suffer from extraneous packaging….
My husband and I are military so we travel a lot and are limited as to how much weight we can have, for this reason we do not have a christmas tree and until i saw this I had not found an alternative, this however would be perfect.
Nice Idea, We havent had a tree for several years now. I dont like the thought of cutting down a tree (I love them) to celebrate. Not to mention my back cant handle it and my cats would probably knock it over anyway. This would be just enough to say we are celebrating, we are not killing ourselves to do it (including having to make room for a tree in our small place and isn’t it just the rage! Its made from recyled cardboard and you can recycle it.. Not killing a tree is ECO Friendly holiday spirit! Thanks, Hope We win this.
Diana
I like the slots that can be used to hang ornaments or wind ribbon through.
We are getting an extra small wastebasket for each bathroom for recycling toilet paper rolls.
I am NOT going to put up Christmas light
This year we are getting a balled tree and planting it after the holidays. I like the fact that the cardboard tree uses minimal amount of material.
I’m switching to LEDs this year.
Coincidently since the lights give off no heat they’d be perfect for a cardboard tree.
Be nice if a “bottom” 3-foot section was sold as well making a 6-foot tree. Or any other combinations.
I love that a portion of the proceeds for these trees go straight to the Trees For America Program! AND….the size is awesome! So much fun! To make a greener holiday this year, I have already begun making my decorations from junk mail and catalogs! I also plan to use these sorts of things to wrap the gifts I give this year!
We are using public transit and winterizing our home!
I love that a portion of the profits from the cardboard tree goes to the arbor day foundation!
I am making my own ornaments this year. This tree is also fun for children to decorate with paint or crayons. I think it is more personal and you put much love into it.
Thanks.
i love that the tree is made from recycled cardboard & that it can be decorated any way i would like!
The ability to decorate it with my son using paint, stickers and crayons is such a great idea!
Hi, we are probably not going to put lights on our tree this year. The kids are in college and really don’t like to help anymore, so I will probably skip the mass of lights and just put on the ornaments, it will still be beautiful. As far as the cardboard Christmas tree, I love that you can paint it and that you can use any kind of ornaments on it, not just the cardboard ones.
thanks for sharing
I really like the fact that it’s eco-friendly. Please count me in. Thanks!!
We are going green by not buying stuff we don’t need.. I like that the tree has versatility.
We’re going green by recycling everything that can be recycled and making less trips to the store, running errands, etc. I love that the tree is recyclable and can be used for years to come!
What a great idea! I love that it is 100% recyclable. I love the example of the decorated trees, especially the orange one with disco balls!
That is really neat that a portion of the profits from the sale of The Cardboard Tree are donated to the Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree For America program
To be more ‘green’ this year we are doing away with wrapping paper! I am getting discounted/recycled fabric and making reusable wrapping ‘un’ paper! I’m going for a neutral theme on the fabric that way my family/friends can reuse the bags for other holidays/occassions. I have also volunteered to do the dishes! (eek) My family traditionally uses paper plates/napkins for holiday dinners/meals so my husband and I have offered up our dishwashing expertise so we can skip the paper!
I was really impressed with the painted tree. I bet if this were stored properly and if eco-friendly paints were used you could use this tree for years in a row!
I am going green by giving more “gifts” that are donations to charities instead of toys or knick knacks that will be thrown away in a few months. I like that the tree is just 3 feet. Perfect for my small house. Thanks for a great giveaway.
We try to be a green family by recycling everything possible. We’ve stopped using paper towels and use dish towels instead (this was a hard one for this busy mom to get used to but I’m doing it!!) I don’t purchase cleaning products anymore, I make my own with vinegar, water. We also use the previous year’s Holiday cards as name tags for the current year’s gifts. The kids have fun cutting out whatever the object is on the front and punching holes in the top. We then tie a ribbon on it and it’s ready to address.
I LOVE this mini tree!! I love that part of the proceeds go to the Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree For America program. I also like that it folds flat since storage is a problem in my home.
Thanks for the chance!
I like the fact that it folds flat. We are thinking of getting a small but evergreen living tree or plant that we can have in for the holidays and then put outside until the next year when we will do it again.
In an attempt to be more green this year my family is going to wrap our presents in old newspapers to recycle them. I like that fact that a portion of the cost of this tree goes to help the Trees for America program. Thanks for the giveaway!
I like that it helps the Trees for America program! we are a re-use and recycle family, in many ways.
We do lots of handmade items for x-mas, and also wrap gifts in fabric ( reusable) which cuts down on waste.. This tree is such a great idea
This year all of my presents will be wrapped in reusable fabric bags. Family can use them to carry whatever they want after the holidays or save them for next year to wrap other gifts!
I love the clean lines of the cardboard tree, it’s very mod when done in a sparse color scheme and would fit in perfect with our mid century house!
I save bows, ribbon and paper from all the holidays through the year. This year we will be exclusively using all of it.
Besides it being from recycled corrugated cardboard, part of the proceeds are donated to the Arbor Days Foundation “Trees For America”. AWESOME!
What I like about the tree is the it is eco-friendly.
This year we are buying things that are used as gifts for one another or making our own gifts.
I just love this tree and the fact that you will donate to the arbor foundation, This tree would be perfect for my traveling son just put it up, then fold and travel. Our family is going green by using reusable tote bags as gift bags this year, wanna be on my gift list.
I think I like that it folds flat best of all. When storage is at a premium, it’s items like this that get to come home with me.
Plus, we’re a short-tree-on-a-table kind of family due to our young son so this is perfect.
We are going to sew cloth bags from vintage Xmas material to give presents in. It will save $ and trees! I like that the tree is made in the USA from 100% recyclable materials!
Thanks for the giveaway!
My family is using the wrapping paper we had from last year and we are buying reusable grocery tote bags to put the clothes in so they can use them at the stores. And to answer the other question I think it’s great that the kids can use their own artwork to decorate the tree and not to mention the easy to put up and down with no messes. Thanks so much for the chance.
We make homemade gifts for one another. My husband and I are building a dollhouse for our daugther and a rocking horse for our son. We also use recycled brown paper and finger paint it to use as gift wrap. Also, we like to have a LOT of christmas lights, and so we have set them up to run on solar power!
One aspect I like is that not only is the tree made from recycled cardboard, it is quality enough that it can be recycled again and it folds flat!
We are “wrapping” our presents in re-useable 100% organic cotton bags. – It’s like an extra present and costs about the same anyway.
Also, we are being green by buying nothing new for decorations! Our reduce and re use part!
WE are using LED lights this Christmas and I like that the product benefits the Trees for America program.
We use an artificial tree, so we can re-use it every year. also, we have for years wrapped the lids of boxes with wrapping paper, so that you can just take the lid off to get to the present and then re-use the wrapped box next time. Wrapped boxes last through several uses before the paper is too tired to be re-used.
The thing I love about this is that it is very festive and very low fuss. It will be great for the green room at church – fire codes prevent us from having a real tree and lights. It is also great that they donate to grow real trees!
I always save Christmas cards that I receive each year. The next year I cut the fronts off and draw a line down the middle of the backside—presto! I have Christmas postcards which are also cheaper to mail! In pre-green times my family said I was cheap–now they think I’m clever! LOL Who knew my thrifty ways would end up being green! I also watch for rolls of pretty wallpaper at thrift shops to use for wrapping paper.
I love everything about this tree! I am now a one person household and its the perfect size. Plus I can let the grandkids decorate it– I’m always looking fun projects for them! And it folds for flat storage! Perfect again! Thanks for sharing this!
We’re using alternative gift wrapping to cut down on waste, and thinking about swapping our foil garland and tinsel for simple strands of popcorn that we’ll string together as a family activity.
We are retired and in the past always had a huge artificial tree. I donated it to the church when we relocated so more people could enjoy the safety of this holiday decoration without the expense each year of purchasing a real tree. Our lives have down-sized. We re-use bows & save the paper from last year while enjoying 52 years of ornaments that have memories and meaning. Happy Holidays to all!
Our family is going green by recycling and reusing everything we can, and by composting to grow a healthy organic garden!!
My family is going green this year by composting our food scraps. I won’t have my traditional tree this year because I live in the city without a car and can’t haul a tree from the nearest tree farm. I like how the cardboard tree has plenty of places to hang my favorite ornaments from.
I love that the tree is made from recycled cardboard (not “new”) and that some of the profits go to planting new trees. Talk about full circle! In our family, we’re going green(er) by giving actual gifts to fewer people, and giving charitable gifts to some (things like giving a pair of goats to a developing-world family, in the gift recipient’s name). We always re-use wrapping when possible. And I like to make greeting cards, and love it when I can use scraps of other things to make something lovely to send. (Those school notices are going to be coming home on red and green paper soon. Save them–use the back!)
We are trying to grow most of our food. We also recycle recycle recycle. thank you
tatertot374@sbcglobal.net
we are wrapping any presents by reusing old newspapers.
at 34 inches by 34 inches, it is the perfect size for my apartment.
We have switched to environmentally friendly cleaners.
I like that you can decorate it any way you like, making it your own.
We’re making our gifts this year! I love how we can color and customize the tree ourselves!
Using my daughter’s artwork for wrapping. I like that a portion of the profits are donated to the Trees for America program.
We compost everything! Recycle our paper and plastic and try to keep the garbage that we put out to a minimum.
We grow our own food and recycle, compost. We’re also vegetarians and try to eat in earth friendly ways. I like that a portion of the profits are donated to the Trees for America program.
Oh wow! I love this idea. My daughter has allergies so we aren’t going to be getting a “real” christmas tree. We aren’t going to buy the artificial ones either because they have lead and are not good for the environment. This is a perfect alternative option!
One way we are going green this holiday season is by only using fabric for wrapping gifts because it is re-usable and packs away easily for next year.
My favorite feature is that you can just about do anything to it to make it your own christmas tree…. with paint, ornaments etc! You can easily customize it!
Being green is not cheap but this would be great for me if I win..because it will get a hit of what is all about.
We reuse boxes and bows from last year. I love that portion of the proceeds go to Trees fir America. Great design, too.
We are going green by serving food bought from our friend’s sustainable, free-range farm. I like that I could paint the tree to be a different theme every year. What a fun idea!
Simply put – buying less gifts. Less consumption is very green. And in this economy….. We’ll spend more time enjoying each other rather than things. I like that the tree is made from recycled cardboard, and is recyclable.
My family, since two years ago, recycles all Christmas wrapping paper given to us or ones we used prior the year before. It’s a great and simple way to help out!
This cardboard tree is just the coolest idea. It’s so creative and eco friendly — I’d love to be able to have one in my home. I know my parents would love the idea!
we’re going green this holiday, as always! i’ll be looking for gift items from antique stores and used bookstores to avoid buying new. i like the cute decorating ideas and the compact packaging on the cardboard tree site.
I am going to decorate with LED lights this year to save on the economy. I love the look of the LED lights anyway and my family does a lot of recycling of paper, plastic, and glass. This tree is a wonderful idea. Thanks for the contest
My tree has all homemade ornaments. I pick up pine cones and decorate them and then I roll them in peanut butter and seeds then hang them for the squirrels and chipmunks after the holiday is over. That way I’m recycling and feeding our little creatures at the same time. Our tree is beautiful right down to our paper angel for the top that we reuse every year. I do not use lights or tinsel or garland on my tree and you would be surprised how many people think that our tree is one of the prettiest they have seen and yet it is not wasting electricity nor is it covered in that waste of tinsel. The only thing on our tree that is not made of recyclable items is some velvet bows that run the whole length of the tree from top to bottom that I made about 12 years ago but since we use them year after year I feel that they are not hurting the environment.
Thanks for sharing.
We’re going green by choosing gifts more carefully to reduce trash and our carbon footprint.
I love that the trees are recycled, and my kids would have a ball decorating it!
My family has used homemade cloth bags with holiday designs to wrap our presents for years. My friends and I will often go without wrapping paper at all.
I really like that the tree is a blank slate. It’s great that it provides the ornaments but still has many crafty opportunities.
we are using all recycled cards & wrapping paper. we are also hoping to go further by winning this super awesome tree!!
I like that the tree uses recycled cardboard – plus it looks way cool! My sister and I have made a pact this year- no buying new wrapping paper. We are paper fiends so it will be tough but fun to come up with cool wrappings without new paper. tinawittmer(at)yahoo(dot)com
I have recycled for years and we compost all our yard waste in order not to send to the landfill. I love the simplicity of the cardboard tree and the fact that my kids would love to decorate it and that storage would be a breeze.
We’re buying fewer presents. The tree will fit well in my son’s small Brooklyn apt.
We are giving more home-made gifts, like we used to do years ago. Fudge, candied orange peel, knitted socks…
I like the creative potential of the cardboard Christmas tree – it can be as ott or as austere as you like, and would be a wonderful and funny memory for children (“Remember the year that Mom presented us with the cardboard tree because she said she would never vacuum needles again?”).
This year we are having Christmas at our house. We are going to be able to introduce other family members to our habits of recycling and reusing. We are also making a lot of our gifts. I love this tree because decorating it is another way to allow your children to be creative and feel like they are leaving thier mark on the holiday decorating. Not to mention I would have a blast decorating it myself!
Also, it’s a perfect size for smaller spaces!
I like that my kid could color it himself.
This year we are buying more handmade gifts and keeping away from extra packaging.
I’m going with the cardboard Christmas tree theme and using any shipping boxes as gift wrapping and recyclables and found objects (otherwise known as interesting trash) to decorate the tree. I’m looking forward to this art project!
Getting a real tree with roots that are balled in burlap is great because you can plant it after the holiday’s are over. The thing that I like about the cardboard trees is that the kids can decorate them using whatever materials they like.
Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
I will purchase a small Colorado Blue spruce tree in a container and give it to my son after the Holiday Season to plant in the yard of his home. I like the idea that the cardboard tree can be painted to any color…the white tree with blue ornaments is so fresh and inviting!
We are “going green” this year by skipping the holiday lights on and in the house. Also, our extended family has decided instead of gifts, we are going to put money in an account so that we can take a trip together. No more wrapping paper waste! We are also not going to be getting a live tree and instead plan on either getting this cardboard tree or using our grandmother’s old fake tree.
We love this cardboard tree because it is recyclable and we don’t have to worry about a fire if we would put lights on it. No more needles on the floor and sap in the carpet!
I love this because it means less trees being destroyed. The cool slots to be able to decorate it easier. I like that a portion of the sales is donated to the Trees for America program. LOVE it! I’m going to suggest it to everyone I know!
Forgot to add my “greener” christmas thing. We are not purchasing or sending regular cards. Only ecards! Less waste!
Forgot to add on my earlier comment my greener christmas thing. We are not purchasing or sending regular cards. Only ecards! Less waste!
RECYCLE,RECYCLE,RECYCLE. I love the cardboard tree because it is different and can be used every year, to remind everyone to recycle.
I’ve sewn a bunch of fabric bags to use instead of wrapping paper. Best part is that we will be able to use them for years and years to come.
The tree is awesome! Perfect size & wonderfully whimsicle. Would be easy to reuse year after year.
We’ve actually had a fake tree for years…as much as I miss the smell of a real one, I like the reusable aspect of it.
OH this is TOO cool! Talk about thinking outside of the BOX-YOU USED the BOX!
Are these popping up in retail windows across the nation!
i love that you can costomize your own tree and its from recycled paper
My family is doing away with wrapping paper and recyling for the first time ever! I love that there are no needles on the tree. I’ve never had a tree because I’m allergic to needles, real and fake ones!
We’re going green by reusing tissue paper and gift bags.
I like the tree because it stores flat. It is a great way to let the kids get involved in decorating too.
I am recycling as much as I can and i like that the tree is 100% recyclable
This year, everyone in the family submits a small wish list. That way, the recipient gets does not have to waste resources (like fuel) on returns. We also reuse gift bags from previous years to cut down on paper, tape, and time.
I am very happy to see that The Cardboard Christmas Tree comes with cardboard ornaments…reduces the possibility of broken ornaments around children/animals!
Thank you for an awesome giveaway.
This is awesome! We have made a lot of recycled holiday goodies already, Im trying to make gifts as much as possible
I’m spearheading a bike-to-work program at my company.
I have & will continue to save on all my energy, and recycling for my part in being Green.
I like the fact that this tree, the perfect size for my place can be used year after year, and no fuss in putting it together or putting it away till next year. I also like the stars and candycanes on it. I need this type and size tree
We are going to use a living tree that we can plant later. I like how children can decorate their own tree for themselves!
we will use less wrapping
I like that a portion of the profits are donated to the Trees for America program.
We will recycle and use less gas.
This Holiday Season we are not using wrapping paper and are instead using painted boxes and re-usable cloth bags. I love that the Cardboard Tree can be individually customized. My kids would have a blast painting and decorating this tree in their own style.
I TRY TO GO GREEN ALL THAT IS POSSIBLE FOR ME TO DO SO–THAT IS WHY I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE YOUR CARDBOARD TREE. IT WOULD BE SO MUCH SIMPLER TO USE & CARE FOR & ALSO TO RECYCLE. JEAN
This year we are having a vegan christmas – with a ‘tofurkey’ and all.
Also all of our gifts are wrapped in newspaper and reusable ribbon.
I totally love how your tree’s are so customizable – paint any colour to perfectly match your home decore. So modern looking too.
We use led lights on a timer. I love that this folds up and is easy for storage. Thanks!
I take care f my 4 yr old granddaughter everyday. We have been doing alot of recycling. i am educating her in cutting down on electricity use and water use. This would be a great example for her and we could do alot of recycle decorations to put on “Nani’s” little tree
Thank you for a great contest and Happy Holidyas
The last several years, we’ve been carefully unwrapping the larger presents and saving the undamaged wrapping paper to re-use.
As to the tree, I like the same thing that Monk, the Obsessive-Compulsive detective said about them in a recent TV commercial — “No muss, no fuss!!”, very enthusiastically! I suspect he was concerned about the more “ordinary” tree shedding needles.
We’re recycling wrapping paper…
And I like that a portion of tree-sales profits are going to renew the population of live trees in the world. Good thinking!
We recycle as much as possible and have been buying our produce at a local farmers co-op. We’ve switched to energy saving light bulbs and they really have made a difference in our electric bill.
I like how you can still use your own decorations and that the tree folds flat. I also like that I wouldn’t have any pince needles to sweep up.
What a wonderful eco-friendly idea! Iam recycling more and more every day!
For every $1 a tree will be planted! How awesome.
I am going green this year by turning off DVD/DVR/TV/Computer/Wii off when not in use.
I love everything about this! But mostly I love that it won’t be dangerous for my littlest to have around and my oldest two can decorate it!
We will recycle our Christmas tree. Ilike that it is 100% recyclable.
WE have been recycling, paper, cans, bottles, and such. I love that this is made of recycled cardboard.
I like the tree because it can be decorated in so many different ways. Love the orange example where they have covered the cardboard with some kind of furry material and put disco ball ornaments on! Also a great project for kids to decorate their own tree!
How are we going green this year? I plan on wrapping gifts in newspaper maybe with some ribbon or colored decorations on them.
We go green every year by not putting up our artificail tree until the weekend before Christmas-saves on lights and we take it down right after New Years. What I like about the cardboard trss is the way you can decorate it but doesn’t a cardboard tree use up trees too?
One way we are going to be greener is by not using wrapping paper. We will use reuable totes and gift bags to put presents in.
We’re going green by saving gas: will be staying home for the holidays instead of traveling away. Love the fact that the cardboard tree not only folds flat but also helps plant more trees!
we try to recycle all we can and we love trees so i have a fake tree as not to harm any live ones
i love that the cardboard tree looks so beautiful with the different sets of decorations my favorite was the green tree with the candy cane and bulbs..how cute
I plan on giving gifts in reusable bags (like the reusable bags you can buy at Target or Wal-Mart).
I love that the cardboard tree lays flat for storage, nice!
I love that it encourages creativity and is a wonderful memory maker for children. Also, special non-homemade ornaments can still be hung on the tree!
i WILL SAVE THIS YEAR BY NOT OVER DECORATING WITH ELECTRICAL THINGS. I heart that the tree can be folded flat for storage and can be recycled when it needs to be replaced.
We use fluorescent bulbs, try to combine trips to save gas, and bundle up instead of running the heater as much. It makes sense for the environment and our budget!
We can’t have a real tree because my husband is allergic, and the cats would probably climb it anyway. The cardboard trees look like they would fit the bill!
I think my daughter would have a great time customizing this tree by using whatever crayons, markers, paint, etc that she wanted on it. This year we’re using wrapping paper that has been saved from past holiday seasons because why throw it away if it has just been put on and taken off cleanly? Thanks!
Wow, what a cool idea! I love the fact that someone has invented something so green for Christmas. I would love to win this and donate it to my son’s elementary school. They are always looking for ways to teach the kids about recycling and being green. This is a fantastic example of both that the kids would love!
we recycle all we can
One of the many things we’re doing is trying to limit the wrapping, ribbons, etc by either using bags (that we already have from previous gifts) or finding another way to wrap that doesn’t involved all of that paper waste
I like that the tree is 100% recyclable and looks very modern
I kept last year’s Christmas cards; this year I’ll cut them up and use them as gift tags for presents.
I like that it’s really unique looking and a conversation-starter…great too that it folds flat.
I like that it is recyclable when it reaches the end of it’s life. I also like that it can store so compactly. We are striving to recycle more as a household. In the past 3 months we have cut the amount of trash we generate almost in half.
Instead of purchasing wrapping paper I’m using interesting papers, packaging and fabrics I’ve collected throughout the year to wrap my gifts. Thanks so much for the opportunity to win such a thoughtful tree.
We’re going to limit gift giving and instead of buying gifts, we’re going to make them. I’m impressed that a portion of proceeds go towards the Trees for America program.
I love how cute these are! It is so funny that I stumbled onto this post because my husband was just asking me last night if I wanted to do a cardboard tree. I didn’t know what he meant exactly and laughed his question off. Now I get it!
Each year I buy a small living tree to decorate and then plant it on the property after the holidays. I plan on doing the same this year. It is such a nice tradition and one that teaches the children so many things from being greener to gardening.
I love that the whole family can get together and decorate these using craft materials. My kids would adore this!
Good Luck Everyone!
we are making postcards out of old christmas cards
I want to place photos on the card board tree. We have lost many family members recently and the photos are such a comfort. We are looking forward to Easter because will be so meaningful.
Newspapers as wrapping paper has been something we’ve done for years
We are using recycled wrapping paper this year. One feature that I like is a portion of the profits are donated to the Trees for America program.
I love that a portion of the proceeds for these trees go straight to the Trees For America Program! Natural cleansers like vinegar and baking soda do a great job without harming the planet. I use reusable grocery bags, recycle and compost and try to conserve gas by driving much less. I am now working on doing my part to help the environment by bringing my own bags when I shop. This year we are cutting down on the “stocking stuffer” gifts and buying one or two really nice gifts for each person. It saves time, money, gasoline, and less paper for wrapping. Thank you for the opportunity to win!
HAVE A HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE !!!
